BYU was happy that guard Chase Fischer decided to transfer from Wake Forest after his Sophmore year. Fischer scored 30 points on Tuesday afternoon against D2 school Chaminade. I know it's a D2 school, but whenever someone scores 30 it's impressive, no matter who they play. It is not only that Fischer scored 30 but the way that he did it. He didn't shoot one free throw. When was the last time you heard someone, from any level, put up 30 without a free throw attempt? Not only did he not attempt a free throw but he only attempted one field goal that wasn't a 3-pointer, and he missed it! Yes, you guessed right, Chase Fischer hit 10 3's, 9 in the first half. He did something that not even the great Jimmer Fredette could do. Fischer set the BYU record for 3-pointers in a game. His 10 3's helped BYU set a team record as well, by making 16 3's in their 121-85 blowout win. Fischer finished the game 10-13 from behind the arc. Coming into the game Fischer was only shooting 39.3% from behind the arc and was second on his team in scoring with 14.3 PPG, behind Tyler Haws' 19.5 PPG. It will be interesting to see how Fischer plays after the historic game he just had. It may not be the 52 points Jimmer put up against New Mexico, but he still did something that no one in BYU history has ever done.
